The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. Through science-driven conservation efforts, they protect lands, waters, and wildlife across more than 80 countries. Our support helps fund critical habitat preservation and climate solutions that protect our planet for future generations.

Founded in the U.S. through grassroots action in 1951, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has grown to become one of the most effective and wide-reaching environmental organizations in the world. Thanks to more than a million members and the dedicated efforts of our diverse staff and over 1,000 scientists, we impact conservation in 83 countries and territories: 39 by direct conservation impact and 44 through partners.

Orangutan Foundation International

In 2005, I spent 2 weeks at Camp Leakey and in the jungles of Borneo, mapping Orangutan habitat and illegal logging in the Tanjung Puting National Park. Founded by renowned primatologist Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, the Orangutan Foundation International (OFI) is dedicated to the conservation of wild orangutans and their rainforest habitat in Borneo. OFI rescues and reh

abilitates orphaned orangutans and works to protect the forests they call home. We are proud to support their vital mission to save one of our closest relatives from extinction.

OFI is profoundly committed to the welfare of all orangutans, whether captive, ex-captive, or wild. Established by Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas and associates in 1986, OFI operates Camp Leakey, an orangutan research center, within Tanjung Puting National Park. OFI also runs the Orangutan Care Center and Quarantine (OCCQ) facility in the Dayak village of Pasir Panjang near Pangkalan Bun, which is home to 330 displaced orangutans.

It also helps manage the Lamandau Wildlife Reserve, where rehabilitated wild-born ex-captive orangutans were released into the wild. Through its field programs, OFI also provides employment at these facilities for over 200 local Indonesians. OFI also owns Rusti, an adult male orangutan rescued from a backyard zoo in New Jersey, now on permanent loan to the Honolulu Zoo in Hawaii. OFI built his magnificent enclosure which covers a good part of an acre.

Sam Houston Area Council

Boy Scouts of America – Sam Houston Area Council

The Sam Houston Area Council serves thousands of young people across the greater Houston area, providing character-building programs, outdoor adventures, and leadership development opportunities. Through Scouting, youth learn values like integrity, service, and resilience that last a lifetime. We are honored to support the next generation of leaders right here in our community.

The Sam Houston Area Council serves approximately 28,000 youth in 16 counties in Southeast Texas through dedicated service and leadership of approximately 10,000 adult volunteers. Scouting is completely funded by the generosity of those that believe in its mission.

The purpose of the council is to guide and support its districts for the achievement of the movement’s purpose. Councils establish policies and programs. Districts carry out the policies and programs in their respective territories. Your support of Scouting provides programs, services, professional support, as well as year-round outdoor programs - all designed to lead youth to lifelong values, service and achievement.
