THE COFFEE TORNADO.
Most roasters use a drum: a hot metal barrel that tumbles beans against its walls the whole roast. Frank uses a fluid bed roaster that floats every bean on clean hot air.
HOW AIR ROASTING WORKS
A fluid bed roaster keeps the beans off the metal for almost the entire roast. That one change shows up in every cup.
Beans ride a tornado of hot air. When one brushes the chamber wall, the airstream blows it straight back up, so scorching is all but eliminated.
Every bean turns freely in the airstream and roasts on every side at once. That's consistency a drum physically can't match.
No smoky aftertaste, no bitterness from over-contact. Just the true character of the bean: earthy, rich and deep.
The process is forgiving, so Frank's hand stays the same across every batch.
